Edit: Nevermind. I found it. I think they have it down there to support bandai. So it won't seem like they are trying to steal or profit from the game.

They need profit but also more time.

Bandai cannot take away the game unless Joe gives it to them. They can shut it down due to it being very similar to .Hack. Joe can easily avoid problems by changing the name of the game and a few other things and still base it off .Hack.

If Bandai were to own The World:R2. Expect to pay to play, need some sort of premium account to experience the game to it's fullest. and get spammed with loads of ads imposed in the game to brainwash the players to buy the latest Bandai merchandise.
Also, Lets not forget their lack of customer support. Though they are not doing anything wrong. It would suck massively. They own the copyright. They can do what they please with it. What I do not understand is why interested in a fanmade game? Why make a big deal out of a game that does not have more than 2k+ players at one time. I would understand IF the game was very popular, made atleast some kind of profit, accepted donations of some sort, and claimed to have created .Hack. But no, the website itself gives credit to Bandai. Provides links to Bandai and various other bandai related merchandise.
